Presenting the Apartment

A modern premium class apartment for spending quality holiday time in Jaipur. It is an ideal holiday apartment for foreign tourists interested in cultural experience of staying with a local family.

City. Jaipur is a major attraction for foreign tourists arriving in India. With its rich cultural heritage, the Pink City of India lives to its legendary fame for conservation of traditional Indian culture and values.

Accommodation. The apartment is a 650-sqft (60 sqm) self-contained accommodation located on the first floor of our house in Chitrakoot, Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur. It has an air-conditioned master bedroom with attached bathroom. A separate furnished kitchen is attached to the drawing-dining space. There is a 5 ft wide balcony in the backside. The apartment is connected to a a terrace garden around a covered porch measuring 14 ft by 16 ft (view the floorplan). The apartment is furnished with all the basic necessities including television, refrigerator, and microwave oven. Special Features. The apartment is located on the first floor of our newly built house (2006-07), which is notable for its aesthetic and 'green building' features. The house has been designed and built with a functionalist minimalist approach while keeping all the green building technologies and energy conservation measures in mind. It uses thermal insulation in walls and roof to reduce electricity consumption in air-conditioning and heating; a solar geyser to heat water that is supplied throughout the house; rain-water harvesting to fill the backyard swimming pool and to irrigate the front lawn and garden and the kitchen garden on the terrace. The house has been built using reconstituted wood only, thus avoiding the expensive natural woods.

Location. Ideally located in a quiet residential neighbourhood of the city of Jaipur. Distance: 7 km from Railway Station, 14 km from the City Airport. Most of the facilities of daily needs are within a range of 1.5 km: post office, sports stadium, restaurants, local market, temple, superstore, cinema multiplex, dispensary, parks and play areas, and schools.

Services. Included are twenty-four hour hot-and-cold water supply, electric supply with power backup, piped cooking gas supply to the kitchen, direct to home TV service, and DSL Internet connection. Personal library of the host, including the CD/DVD collection, and the kids’ pool in the backyard of the house, can be used by the guests.

Supplement Services. It is possible to have guests picked up from the Airport or Railway Station. Housework including cleaning and scrubbing, washing of clothes, and services of a cook can be arranged upon request.

Host family. The host family livest at site. Personal profiles of the host family members can be seen here. Languages spoken in the host family are Hindi (mother tongue), English, and French.
